Interesting childhood fact about Abraham Lincoln!
According to myth, Nolin River was reportedly named when a bracket of woodsmen camped on a hummock near the river and a member of the hunting party, Benjamin Lynn, became astray. The narrative continues as the rest of the gatherers returned to the hummock where someone said "Here is the knoll, but no Lynn!" The lost huntsman was later found alive, spry in appearance, and well encamped at nearby Lynn Camp Creek. The United States Board on Geographic Names settled on "Nolin River" as the stream's name in 1933. Another interesting fact is, as a child, Abraham Lincoln swam there!πŸŒ²πŸ‡πŸ•πŸΉ
